Saddle up folks! York social enterprise Get Cycling is offering free cycle hire as part of the Residents’ Festival.
The company wants eligible residents and students to benefit from its range of conventional adult and children’s bicycles, tandems and family cargo bikes.
And you can hire them for four hours for free on either Friday, 28 or Saturday 29 January.
Get Cycling is based on Hospital Fields Road, Fulford, close to dedicated cycle routes into the city centre and the National Cycle Network Route 66 to Selby.
The team can also provide people with a map of some local cycle routes you can do in York.
Get Cycling chief executive Joanne Mahon said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for residents and students to try out our great range of hire cycles while supporting a community-focused social enterprise and travelling sustainably in and around York.”

And people with their own cycles won’t miss out. Events organisation Everybody’s Cycling will be at the shop on the same days, offering free maintenance and advice sessions.
