Police are investigating a serious sexual assault that took place in York this weekend.
Officers were called to the riverside on Saturday night, and closed off part of Kings Staith.
The cordon remained in place on Sunday.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At 9.30pm on Saturday 9 September police in York responded to reports of a serious sexual assault which occurred next to Kings Staith.
“A cordon was put in place to allow investigation work to take place.
“Four men were arrested in connection with the incident. Three of the men were released with no further action and one was released on bail.
“Enquiries are continuing.”
