A former York housing officer has admitted exchanging explicit images and messages with a member of the public in connection with his work.
Anthony Patrick, 63, was a housing officer with City of York Council at the time of the offence in 2023.
He appeared at York Crown Court today (22 April) when he admitted misconduct in public office by wilfully exchanging explicit images and messages with a service user.
He also gave that user money through his own bank account.
The offence was committed between August and October 2023.
Judge Sean Morris adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report but warned Patrick, of Haslewood Close, Burmantofts, Leeds, to expect a jail sentence.
The judge added: “These are serious matters and you can expect a custodial sentence, so you can put your affairs in order.”
Patrick will be sentenced on 22 May. He was released on bail with conditions that include not contacting two people and not going to an area in York.
