A new year calls for a new you! Instead of convincing yourself that this will be the year you finally hit the gym, why not sign up for an Adult Learning course at York College instead?

York College offers a variety of courses in a range of subjects to ensure there is something for everyone. Whether your ‘new year, new me’ ethos involves finding your dream job, learning new skills or simply meeting new friends, enrolling on one of our courses is your first step towards achieving that goal.

If you’ve always wanted to pick up a language but never quite had the time, we will be running evening classes in Spanish, Italian and British Sign Language from January onwards. Similarly, our wide range of construction courses means no more excuses for putting off those home improvement plans.

“I had had doubts as anyone might when trying something new, stepping out of their comfort zone, but around 15 minutes into my first class these doubts were replaced by certainty and confidence that I was where I should be, and doing what I should be.”
Neil Henderson – Level 1 Award in Creative Crafts (Furniture Making) student

Our certified Construction courses make the best use of our state-of-the-art facilities, giving you hands-on experience in skills such as bricklaying, plastering, and painting and decorating. Our courses in Hair, Beauty and Holistic Therapies similarly guarantee you a practical experience in a real salon with courses on Massage and Reflexology starting in the New Year.

Whether you enjoy baking as a hobby or are looking to improve your talents in the kitchen, our Hospitality courses, including Patisserie, Confectionary and Cake Decoration, are the perfect fit for the sweet tooth in you. Our professional courses will likewise start you off on the right foot towards progressing at work, with certified courses ranging from AAT and SAGE Software Training to Pearson EDEXCEL and ASCENTIS Training.

A new year means new opportunities. Our job at York College is to ensure that you pursue these opportunities to the fullest. Invest in yourself and make 2018 the best year yet!
