He is a footballing legend and a jungle champion.
And now, despite his East End of London background, Harry Redknapp has fallen in love with York.
After managing the likes of Spurs, Southampton, Bournemouth, and West Ham, Harry retired from his managerial career in 2017.
Since then, he has been busy as a charity ambassador, property developer, and popular presence on our TV screens.
Harry was even crowned ‘King Of The Jungle’ on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018.
On Thursday, he brought his hugely popular one-man show, An Audience With Harry Redknapp, to York Barbican.
And while he was here, he revealed his love for the city.
“The Barbican gig was absolutely fantastic. Goodness me, the York crowd was so welcoming and friendly,” Harry told freelance journalist Lisa Byrne.
“And it was great having time to explore such a gorgeous city, what a gem!
“I fully intend to bring my wife Sandra here in the spring for a break to visit the Minister, Ivy and obviously York races.”
Harry loves racing almost as much as football, and co-owned a horse that was entered into last year’s Grand National.
