Police have taken action over drivers speeding in a York 20mph zone.
Officers from the neighbourhood policing team held a speed awareness operation on Bishopthorpe Road yesterday (Saturday).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It was good to see the majority of drivers abiding by the 20mph speed limit in the area.
“Average speed recorded was 18mph.”
They said “15 drivers were spoken to, ten drivers educated, five reported for excess speed”.
