It’s the biggest shop of its kind in Europe – and it’s just opened in York!
Go Outdoors York at Vangarde has 125,000 sq ft of retail space stocked with more than than 380 brands covering walking, camping and caravanning, watersports, running, fishing, horse riding and climbing.
There’s an equestrian centre with a horse riding simulator, a fishing republic with everything for the angler, and a camping section with a selection of tents to explore and try out for size.
There’s also a large bike shop, massive range of footwear build for the great outdoors and every sort of jumper, waterproof and coat to keep you warm and dry,
And a café has opened on the first floor.
It’s great to see the long empty unit, empty since John Lewis left, buzzing again.
The official opening weekend, with goodie giveaways and an appearance by TV’s Helen Skelton, is 7 and 8 September.
