A new residential development in the Groves has just been completed.
And we’ve had a sneaky first peek at St John’s Mews, on Penley’s Grove Street, York.
You can go and have a look for yourself at the Open to View afternoon on Thursday (5 December) between 3pm and 7pm. Refreshments will be provided.
Easingwold-based developers Caedmon Homes built 29 apartments on the site of the former Groves House Care Home. The one, two and three bedroom apartments – some with a view of York Minster – have now gone on sale, with a guide price of between £200,000 and £360,000.
Nine apartments have already been sold “off plan” with the first residents taking up occupation. A show apartment is available to view through selling agents Savills.
Young professionals
Director of Caedmon Homes Paul Brown said they were delighted with the interest in St John’s Mews, adding:
-
The affordability of the homes is a very important element of this project and, with the Government’s Help to Buy initiative, we have seen that a number of young professionals are able to become home-owners for the first time.
We are extremely proud of St John’s Mews, which adds to the excellent reputation of the Groves as one of the city’s most popular residential areas.
It is proving to be especially attractive not only to first-time buyers, who are hoping to get a foothold on to the property ladder but to buyers who are looking for a “change of lifestyle” or retiring to the area
The well-specified two and three bedroom apartments are going be released with prices ranging from £275,000 to £450,000.
The two bedroom properties range from £275,000 to £360,000, the two bedroom duplex properties with balconies are available at £360,000 and the three bedroom properties from £415,000 to £450,000.
Secure car parking is available at £25,000 for selected properties.
In addition, there are a limited number of one bedroom properties still available with prices ranging from £200,000 to £265,000.
Mr Brown added: “The show apartment gives prospective buyers the perfect opportunity to explore a furnished property.
“Meanwhile the next phase of the development is now ready for occupation and therefore prospective buyers can experience and see for themselves the quality of fixtures and fittings within the individual properties.”
Anne Haggas, Associate Director at Savills, commented: “We have had some tremendously positive reaction to the development with its location, its views – with York Minster as a backdrop – and the tranquil community feel of the neighbourhood. It has been a pleasure to offer these properties to our very discerning residents.”
