York’s newest restaurant has launched with a preview night complete with balloons, 360º camera – and lots of food.
German Doner Kebab has moved in to the old BrightHouse building in Piccadilly, next to the Merchant Adventurer’s Hall grounds.
It opens to the public tomorrow (Monday). But YorkMix was invited to take a look early,
It has a very striking look. Based around the brand colours of orange and grey, the interior includes tables and booths, exposed industrial style lighting, a tiled wall and neon signs.
Near the entrance are the large touch screens where you can order your food.
Or go up to the counter where the very friendly staff will take your order.
As you would expect from a fast food outlet, there is a large range of choices, including:
- Doner box with fries, £4.99
- Doner durum wrap, £5.99 / £8.99 meal
- Doner panini, £4
- Veggie kebab, £4.99 / £7.99 meal
- Doner burger £4.99 / £7.99 meal
- Doner nachos £3.99
Once your order has been taken you are given a electronic token which you place on your table and the food is brought to you.
Diners on preview night were very complimentary about the food, and my young dining companion decided it had usurped a certain famous burger chain at the top of his list.
It opens from 11am-11pm daily.
