York’s first Bollywood cruise will set sail on the Ouse next month, promising a night of dancing, music, and Bollywood magic.
Organised by Shamim Eimaan, who set up last year’s multicultural mela festival, she described the unique event as “an exciting experience and one not to be missed!”
The River Prince boat will be chartered from King’s Staith on Saturday the 21st of September from 7pm, lasting for two and a half hours.
The vessel will make its way up and down the Ouse, between Clifton Bridge and Bishopthorpe Palace, heading through all the major bridges in York to bring passengers a real mix of the city.
The evening cruise will include Bollywood dancing, bhangra music, drinks and snacks, and a Bollywood-style DJ from Bradford.
Organiser Shamim is the founder of ‘Eimaan Culture and Community Services CIC’, a specialist provider in promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and health and wellbeing in communities.
She has a desire to empower under-represented groups and has founded projects such as Uganda50 York, Chat Adoption York, and Refugee Week Traditional Ladies night.
On the events page, ticket buyers are under instruction to: “grab your friends, put on your best Bollywood attire, and get ready to make some unforgettable memories.”
Priced at £26.99, tickets are available to purchase here.
