A fire alarm that sounded at a York hotel was left to ring early this morning – after no staff could be found.
York firefighters were called out to the hotel at 2.23am today (Monday) by hotel guests awakened by the alarm.
The crew did a full search of the hotel – which has not been named – and found nothing.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Full internal and external search of premises conducted by fire crew with no sign of fire and an unknown cause for the alarm activation.
“Fire alarm unable to be silenced or re-set due to no hotel staff found on premises by fire crew and guests.”
