It sounds like a scene from a rom-com. But it really happened in York today (Wednesday).
Firefighters stepped in to rescue a puppy stuck in a storm drain.
They were called to the emergency on Huntington Road at 11.49am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from York responded to a puppy stuck in a storm drain.
“The crew used a reach pole and crew power to extricate the puppy which has now been reunited with its owner.”
