Firefighters respond to many major incidents involving vehicles.
But one call-out today (Wednesday) was a more minor affair.
A crew from Tadcaster went to the rescue of a man who got his finger trapped in a car seat at Bishopdyke Road, Sherburn-in-Elmet.
Where it happened
He called them at 2.26pm after realising his finger was well and truly wedged.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A Tadcaster fire crew were dispatched to assist an adult male who had got his finger stuck in a car seat while trying to reach for a pen.
“The male’s finger was released by the fire crew from the car seat who also administered fist aid for a minor hand injury.”
