Firefighters have saved a young girl after she fell into a river in the Yorkshire Dales today (Wednesday).
The girl, aged nine, slipped on a footpath in Hawes. She fell through a hedge and 15ft down into Gayle Beck.
She managed to cling on to the riverbank even as her feet were in the water.
A fire crew from Hawes rushed to help.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters waded in, carried her out, and left in care of paramedics, cold but unharmed.”
