Firefighters have saved a cow after it was trapped in mud in York.

They were called to Clifton Park Avenue at about 9.53am today (Saturday, August 11) after the animal got stuck up to its chest.

Crews from York and Acomb went to the scene. Animal rescue crews from Malton and Ripon also attended the incident and used specialised animal rescue equipment.
