Firefighters put out mystery tree fire then deal with jammed police handcuffs
It’s all in a night’s work for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service…
Among the incidents dealt with by our firefighters overnight were a tree on fire and jammed handcuffs.
At 5.14pm, a crew from Hemingbrough near Selby were called to reports of a large tree on fire.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Buckets of water and a knapsack sprayer was used to extinguish the fire, with the cause unknown.”
Much later, at 12.58am, York firefighters went to the police station on Fulford Road.
“Crew were mobilised to assist police to remove handcuffs from a male,” said the spokesperson. They used boltcroppers to do the job.
