There’s no point in crying over spilt milk – but it caused a headache for drivers early today.

Firefighters from Huntington were called out to several spillages on the outer ring road at 5.31am. The problem was on the A1237 from the A59 junction to Clifton Moor.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Huntington responded to reports of milk spillages over several roundabouts.

“The crews used one hose reel jet to stop the milk from entering the waterways and left the incident with the police and council who were using fibres to absorb the milk off the carriageway.”
