Firefighters were called to a fire started deliberately in York last night (Thursday).
An Acomb crew was called to a small fire in the open at Water End at 6.05pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire was out prior to our arrival and an inspection was carried out. The cause was deliberate.”
Later last night, at 11pm, a York crew was called to a small fire in a drain on Paver Lane.
They put it out with a bucket of water. The fire was caused by smoker’s materials.
