Firefighters were called out to a York shop after a fire filled the flats above with smoke.
Acomb and York crews went to the incident at 10.39pm last night (Wednesday).
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of heavy smoke logging in a retail premises that was finding its way in to residential flats located above.
“Crews attended and found smoke to be issuing from the front of the building.
“They entered and located a fire in an oven. They used four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish and isolated the utilities to the building.”
