North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say they have been called in to deal with a fire in the post office and shop on Barwic Parade in Selby.
There is a lot of smoke and flames and the Station Manager at Selby Fire station has asked people to keep back.
One eyewitness said it appeared to have started at the back and her partner saw the flames and reported it to the shop.
Tony Walker added later, “Incident now being scaled down to one appliance. Fire investigation now taking place. No injuries reported. Well done Fire crews, Police and Ambulance. Good team approach.”
