Crews have been called to a fire near railway tracks this afternoon (Saturday, 19 April).
And they are appealing to motorists not to stop on a nearby road.
Firefighters were called a fire next to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway between Goathland and Pickering shortly after 4pm.
Both North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and fire crews from nearby RAF Fylingdales are at the scene.
North Yorkshire Moors Railway have cancelled all remaining vintage train services for the rest of the day. They have arranged buses for passengers.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Our officers are currently patrolling the A169 due to concerns that motorists are stopping their vehicles on the main road, to get out and take photos and videos of the fire.
“We are appealing to motorists not to do this. Not only is it a safety concern, but vehicles have been causing an obstruction.”
