Two incidents overnight illustrate the varied life of the modern firefighter.
And neither involved anything alight.
At 5.07pm last night (Monday), a crew responded to reports of a trampoline hanging off an electric pole in Ripon.
A crew removed the trampoline using a triple extension ladder.
Then at 6.08am came another unusual call, this time from York.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of an unusual smell inside somebody’s property.
“This was a false alarm with good intent.”
