North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have been called to the Shambles in York this afternoon.
They responded to a report of loose guttering hanging over a pedestrian walkway. Crews removed the guttering and assisted with making the footpath safe.
Police sealed off the street while the operation was carried out.
Station Manager Bob Hoskins tweeted these pictures and said that it wouldn’t take long before the street was open again.
He thanked both the York BID Rangers and York Police for their assistance during the incident.
