Firefighters were called to a York pub yesterday (Thursday).
Appliances from both Acomb and Tadcaster went to the pub in the Woodthorpe area at 5.50pm.
Fire control had received reports of smoke coming from the ceiling.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “After a full and thorough investigation by fire crews using thermal imaging cameras this was thought to have been caused by the food extractor system and no fire was found.
“Advice was given and incident left with the occupiers.”
