Fire crews in York were called to a series of flooding incidents last night after the torrential downpours.
The first was at a business in the city at 5.17pm. “After inspection their was no flood water affecting the electrics. Crews gave advice,” said a North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson.
Soon afterwards, at 5.34pm, Acomb firefighters went to flooding in a basement of a home, and a fire officer was called to a street hit by flash floods at 5.37pm.
No one was hurt in the incidents.
More challenging weather is on the way. Storm Darragh blows into North Yorkshire today, with a yellow weather warning for high winds in place till Sunday.
Drivers are urged to leave more time for their journeys.
