Firefighters have tackled a serious house blaze in North Yorkshire today (Thursday).
Crews from Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay were called to fire in a two-storey semi-detached house in Ruswarp near Whitby at 12.12am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire originated in the upper floor of the left hand side of the property, and the right hand side was unaffected by fire.
“The left hand side of the house suffered 100% fire damage and the right hand side suffered 10% smoke damage.”
Six crew wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to put out the flames.
“The cause is accidental to be confirmed by the fire investigation officer,” the spokesperson said.
