A fire has caused significant damage to a property in Haxby.
Firefighters were called to Meadow Lane at about 5.50pm today (Thursday). The blaze was in a flat on the first floor of a two storey building.

Eight fire crews were called out to the blaze which has spread to the roof.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said no one had been hurt and all the residents were safe.
