Willy Wonka is coming to York – and here’s how you could be a lucky winner…
Joseph Rowntree Theatre have launched a delicious new competition in the run up to BeAmazingArts’ production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – where you could find your very own Golden Ticket!
Audiences have the chance to win golden and silver tickets, which are hidden inside competition KitKats sold at the theatre. Buy one – or a few – bars of chocolate and unwrap your treat to see if you’re one of the lucky winners.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is at Joseph Rowntree Theatre from Thursday 5 to Saturday 8 September.
Golden tickets are hidden inside just three 4-finger KitKats – where the winners will receive two tickets to this year’s pantomime, Mother Goose.
Silver tickets can be discovered in 20 of the 2-finger KitKats, with the winning prize being two tickets to a Film Night at the theatre.
All money raised from the sales of the competition bars will go towards the theatre’s Heart For the Arts campaign, which is aiming to raise funds to provide new facilities in the theatre – including a social lounge, in-house bar and additional toilets.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is based on the novel by Roald Dahl, with an original score by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Tickets start from £20 and are available online here.
