On a wet and grotty day like today, we’d all love to be able to bring out the sunshine on tap.
And if you’re a filmmaker, you can.
Using very bright lights and some temporary shelters, the crew of Let There Be Love brought out the sun and banished the rain as they shot scenes next to Lendal Bridge today (Tuesday, 14 January).
The action centred on an al fresco cafe, created next to one of York’s most popular coffee shops in real life, the Perky Peacock.
We first reported on the movie when the team were filming in and around Shambles in December.
They were back in the city centre today to capture more scenes for what is described as a Christmas romcom.
Directed by Mick Davis, the film features Roger Ashton-Griffiths playing Mr Thompson, best known as Mace Tyrell in Game Of Thrones.
It is due to be screened at Christmas this year.
