Singers and bands will bring music to the heart of York later this month with the return of a popular autumn treat.
Live For St Leonard’s is back as part of the York Food & Drink Festival 2022.
This music charity event, taking place across eight days from 23 September to 1 October, is in aid of St Leonard’s Hospice and will feature live performances from the likes of The Moths, Tri-Starrs, Gary Stewart, The Mixtapes, The Rusty Pegs, Third Sector, Simon Snaize, Naglo Bay, 5K, Fahrenheit V and Mama Feelgood.
The festivities will take place between 5pm and 9pm each evening (except Monday) in the event marquee based on Parliament Street.
Food and drink will be available from participants at the Food & Drink Festival. Details of individual acts and performance times can be found on the Live for St Leonard’s Facebook page.
All the live music events are free to attend, and St Leonard’s staff and volunteers will be collecting donations during the performances.
Last year’s event raised over £4,500 for the charity which has become the target to beat in 2022.
Electric atmosphere

The event is supported by the York BID and YorkMix Radio. The BID’s business manager Chris Bush has arranged the music acts.
“The atmosphere at last year’s event was electric and we at the BID are thrilled to be involved again,” Chris said.

“Please don’t miss this opportunity to see some fantastic local acts raise money for a very worthwhile cause.”
St Leonard’s Hospice chief executive Emma Johnson said: “We’re thrilled to see the return of Live for St Leonard’s. Everyone who attended last year had a fantastic time and raised an amazing amount for the hospice.
“We are very much looking forward to this year’s event and definitely hope to raise even more funds to help care for patients, and their families, who are facing living with life-limiting illnesses.”
