One of Europe’s most exciting sports is alive in York, and York Hunters handball team is looking for new players!
Handball is an fast-paced seven-a-side indoor sport, featuring six outfield players, one goalkeeper, and a goal at each end of the court. The aim of the game is to simply score more goals than the opposition.
Handball is huge in continental Europe, but is still a relatively unknown sport in the UK. It is really good fun to play, and is also a great workout for your whole body.
York Hunters are looking for new players of both genders, and whether you are a seasoned pro or had never heard of handball before reading this, you are more than welcome to join in the fun.
Check out this video from England Handball Association to learn a bit more about the sport, and see if you can spot some York Hunters players who star in it…
Training is every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm at The Mount School Sports Hall, starting from Tuesday, September 26.
The weekly training sessions will be split between genders, and there are different membership fees for each gender.
This year the ladies team is being partially funded by North Yorkshire Sport in an effort to get more girls into sport.
Please contact us for more information and we look forward to seeing you at a training session soon!
