York brewery Brew York is opening a new North Yorkshire pub today (Friday).
The Mitre in Knaresborough reopens at midday, just in time for the bank holiday weekend, after a temporary closure for a makeover by the expanding brewery.
Sharing the ‘fantastic news’, Brew York said: “We are thrilled to invite you back to our cosy and welcoming pub, where you can enjoy some of the best Brew York beer and various other beverages.”
York foodie favourite Frango Eduardo will be on hand with some delicious chicken-based grub.
The brewery says: “We are still finalising the details of our permanent food offering and will share the details as soon as we can.”
Located next to Knaresborough station, The Mitre closed last year and its future was unclear.

Then Brew York co-founders Wayne Smith and Lee Grabham announced they had done a deal with Market Town Taverns to acquire three of their venues – The Mitre, The Horse & Farrier in Otley and Coopers, Guiseley.
They said: “Brew York beers will become the bar offer – across traditional hand-pull cask and keg, including lager – and the street food offer that has been a winning formula across the existing Brew York venues will be introduced.
“As all Brew York beers are brewed in York either at the original brewery on Walmgate or at the main production facility in Osbaldwick, the three venues will be a true showcase of Yorkshire beer.”
The Mitre will open from 12pm-11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 12pm to 12am on Saturdays.
