Fancy a place at the round table? York Theatre Royal’s forthcoming summer family show, The Legend of King Arthur, is holding auditions for young people aged 16 years and above.
This unique opportunity offers four young people, two male and two female, the chance to work alongside a company of professional actors and creative team on a magical new production of The Legend Of King Arthur, which will see the theatre entirely transformed into Camelot.
The roles are Young Arthur, Young Gwenevere, Young Lancelot and Young Morgana, and auditions take place on Saturday, May 18.
To be considered for audition young people will need to be aged 16 years on the first day of rehearsals – Monday 24 June. They will have to read and sing. They can bring a prepared piece of music (anything they like to sing) or can be given something to sing at audition, and they don’t have to read music. The boy playing Arthur must be good with heights and may have to do some sword fighting.
Anyone interested in auditioning should email [email protected] for an audition time and more details. They will need to bring a passport-sized photo of themselves and written parental permission.
Rehearsals for the production of The Legend Of King Arthur will be most weekday evenings, some afternoons and Saturdays. Performances will be approximately half each and we can be flexible for days off but it is a whole summer commitment.
