The more energetic can have a go at Zorb football, whilst those wanting a seat can take to the cab of one of the mighty machines from Diggerland.
James Brennan, head of marketing at York Racecourse, told YorkMix Radio: “All of these additional activities will be undercover.
“So if it does look a little showery on Sunday afternoon, fret not there is loads of cover at the racecourse.”
And that special guest we mentioned? Only Chase from Paws Patrol! The children’s TV star will be around to meet and greet everyone on the Edwardian weighing room lawn.
As an extra bonus, you can also say hello to YorkMix Radio’s Mixie Monster!
“Derek Thompson, the renowned racing broadcaster, he’ll be on his mic, having a chat with people in the crowd, doing his lucky loser bucket after each of those seven races,” James said.
“And the team in the interactive racing zone will show you how you can ride a racehorse using the Equicizer. Think rocking horse only actually quite a lot cleverer.
“It’s a mechanical racehorse you can have a go on, you can try on the silks.
“There’s face painting, competitions with prizes – so lots and lots going on on your next family Sunday.”
For £15 adults get access not only to the Clocktower Enclosure but also the grandstand and paddock.
Three-course Sunday lunches are being served from noon or you might want to enjoy a fresh sandwich on one of the many lawns.
And it’s a relaxed dress code for all areas. See you there!
