Experience two of Japan’s most famous ghost stories in York – in this unique musical show.
Presented by York’s Kaminari UK Taiko Drummers, the show will feature two Japanese ghost tales from the pen Lafcadio Hearn.
Kwaidan: Japanese Ghost Stories is at Theatre@41, Monkgate on Sunday 19 November.
In the chilling ‘Yuki Onna’, a young woodcutter is spared death by the unearthly snow woman. Then she disappears. But for how long?
In ‘Hō-ichi the Earless’, the blind musician’s life is in peril after a visit by vengeful samurai spectres. But survival comes at a cost…
York’s Kaminari UK Taiko Drummers will perform specially written and adapted pieces in this unique show. There’ll be big-screen narration by Jonathan Goodwin and will feature special guest Michael Graham on koto (Japanese harp) and the atmospheric biwa (Japanese lute).
The narration will be in English with English subtitles.
Tickets for Kwaidan: Japanese Ghost Stories are £12 and are available via the Theatre@41 website.
