A new gift shop specialising in York-inspired products is set to open in a historic building.
The Echo of York will be the latest venture opening up at 15 Newgate.
It will feature curated gifts, home décor, and accessories that evoke the spirit of York, as well as a range of unique and quirky York-oriented premium gifts from independent makers.

It will move into the unit that was previously home to the Timpson locksmith and shoe repair shop, that had traded there for more than 20 years before it closed last September.
The Shambles Christmas Pop Up Shop temporarily moved in over the festive season, before it stood empty once more. Now it’s set to become something new.
Luke, from The Echo of York, told YorkMix, “We’re putting a tremendous amount of effort into making this shop an exciting and authentic addition to York.
“We’re thrilled about this project and can’t wait to bring it to life.”
Described as an “unique gift shop”, the newspaper cuttings currently in the window of 15 Newgate hint at their aim of transforming it into a “traditional newspaper office setting”.
Number 15 Newgate is a Grade II listed building. It is part of a row of five houses, turned into four businesses, that date back to 1337. In keeping with its history, The Echo of York is “inspired by the charm and elegance of times gone by.”
The shop is still a couple of months away from opening, so watch this space for a date when it’ll open its doors.
