Emergency teams rescued a man who had tumbled into a pit this morning.
Fire crews and paramedics were called to the incident on a farm in Thixendale at 4.46am.
A man in his 60s had fallen into an empty pit about 20ft deep.

Both fire engines from Malton went the scene. They worked alongside the the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to rescue the man.



A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Working with the HART Team the casualty was brought to safety using rescue lines and a pulley system.
“The casualty sustained a leg injury but will make a full recovery.”
