Firefighters from York and Acomb were called out to reports of a flat fire in the city.
The caller was a friend of the home’s owner.
They rushed to the scene – only to discover that the caller had misheard. The flat owner had said to their friend that they had a “flat tyre”!
The good news is that everyone is safe, even if there are a few red faces about…
York Fire Station Manager Bob Hoskins told us:
- The caller was very apologetic and embarrassed.
But we would always prefer to get the call and attend to make sure everyone was safe.
