Emergency services responded to an air crash near York this evening (Thursday).
It was at the Leeds East Airfield, formerly RAF Church Fenton, south of York.
North Yorkshire Police said tonight: “Emergency service have attended reports of an air crash at an airfield in Church Fenton this evening.

“Police, fire and ambulance services were called to a collision involving a single light aeroplane just after 5.10pm today.
“Both of the plane’s occupants, two men in their 70s, have been taken to hospital with injuries.
“An investigation will be carried out in due course to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the collision.”
Fire crews from Tadcaster, Selby, Acomb and York went to the crash.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews located the light fixed wing aircraft that was on its roof.
“Crews provided initial first aid assistance to two casualties until the arrival of ambulance crews.
“Both casualties were handed into the care of paramedics and transported to hospital. Crews assisted in making the aircraft safe.
“The incident was left in the hands of the police and airport management company.”


Reports suggest it was a Cessna T210M light aircraft that flipped over onto its roof on the runway.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was also called to the scene, and the passenger was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch have been informed.
