Driver has car seized in York – before they’ve passed their test
Not a great way to start your life on the road…
A driver who has yet to pass their test saw their car seized and towed by police in York yesterday (Tuesday).
It happened on Duncombe Place after a police community support officer spotted the condition of its nearly treadless tyres.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “They were so worn, the inner cord was visible.
“It also transpired the driver only had a provisional licence, which also invalidated their insurance.
“The result – another unroadworthy, illegally driven vehicle off our roads.”
