A driver has died in a crash involving a lorry and tractor in a North Yorkshire village.
It happened on the B1248 at Wharram Le Street south of Malton at around 11.35am yesterday.
A red DAF articulated HGV towing an open flatbed trailer collided with a green tractor and trailer which was carrying hay.
Location of the crash
Both vehicles were traveling towards Norton when the crash happened.
Sadly, the 51-year-old driver of the HGV was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Police are supporting his family.
The driver of the tractor was a man aged in early 50s. He was uninjured, and is assisting police with their enquiries.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage which may have captured the collision or seen the vehicles prior to the incident.”
