Driver attacks pedestrian during rush hour on busy York street

A driver left his vehicle to attack another man as he walked down a York street.

The incident happened at 8am on Monday (March 13) on Bishopthorpe Road.

The male driver of a large black vehicle got out near the shops. He confronted and attacked another man walking on the pavement.

The driver then got back into his vehicle and left in the direction of Scarcroft Road.

He is described as a white man, aged in his mid 40s.

A police spokesman said: “We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
