A cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after the crash in York last night (Wednesday).
And police say they arrested a driver at the scene.
The collision happened at 5.40pm on Monkgate close to the Brigadier Gerrard roundabout.
A grey Hyundai car and the cyclist collided.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, failed a roadside drug test and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by careless driving.
He was later charged with failing to provide a specimen and was remanded in custody.
As we reported, roads connected to the roundabout were closed for several hours while police carried out an investigation.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the car or bike prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.”
