Dozens of pheasants died in a fire near Ripon today (Tuesday).
Firefighters from Ripon, Knaresborough and Harrogate responded to a report of gas cylinders on fire at Aldfield at 11.36am.
They found five propane gas cylinders well alight. The flames then spread to nearby pheasant sheds.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews extinguished the fire before cooling the cylinders and damping down hotspots.
“The fire resulted in 100% fire damage to all of the cylinders and fire damage to a number of the pheasant sheds.
“Approximately 70 pheasants died.”
