A dog is thought to have caused a fire in a North Yorkshire village home.
Two fire crews were called to the incident at Thirlby near Thirsk at 4pm last night (Monday).
They were responding to reports of a hob on fire.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The fire involved a dog lead which had been left on the hob and it’s thought the dog had accidentally switched the hob on.
“This then spread to the kettle and extractor fan.
“The fire was out upon our arrival and the crew inspected and ventilated the premises. The fire caused only minimal damage to items mentioned and the crew used a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate.”
