Did you see this crash? Tipper truck and pick-up come to grief on A64

An HGV tipper truck and a Ford Transit pick-up were involved in a collision near York and police are asking witnesses to come forward.

The crash happened on the west-bound carriageway of the A64 near York at about 1pm on Wednesday (June 10).

Both the tipper truck and yellow pick-up were travelling in the same direction and came to rest about 15ft down a grass verge following the crash.

The driver of the Ford Transit suffered minor head injuries and was treated at York Hospital. Both vehicles were badly damaged.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw either of the vehicles prior to the crash, to contact them on the numbers below.

The road was closed until 6pm to allow the vehicles to be recovered.
