Proposals for 380 homes on a field in the north east of York have been unveiled by a developer.
National housebuilder Taylor Wimpey wants to build the housing estate on a field between Stockton Lane and Bad Bargain Lane in Heworth.
It has submitted an application to City of York Council for a screening opinion for the homes, a shop, community facilities and childcare provision at the site.
It has a consultation website about the plans. “The proposed development will provide a variety of new homes ranging from two-bedroom homes to five-bedroom homes with 30% of the homes designated as affordable housing,” it says.
“In accordance with the emerging planning policy, the proposed development will also feature green open space, community facilities and a retail unit.”
It says the proposed application site forms part of a draft housing allocation earmarked for about 845 homes as part of a new garden village within the emerging City of York Local Plan.
The website continues: “Housing will be set within a robust network of green infrastructure with a green corridor running through the spine, which will help to integrate the development within the local landscape and create a distinctive sense of place.”
