Video: Lane closure removed following car fire on the A64

Fire crews have been dealing with a car fire on the A64 Eastbound between Tadcaster and York at Bilborough Top.

Traffic was backing up in both directions.

Fire crews from York, Acomb and Tadcaster were called in and the car was well alight.

All occupants were out of the vehicle and safe. Crews extinguished the fire and left the scene with the police.

The lane closure has now been removed (Sunday 16:00)

#A64 eastbound just after Bilbrough Top Services, lane 1 remains closed for re-surfacing following yesterday's vehicle fire. The new surface has been laid and is now cooling and curing. There are 15 min delays on approach. pic.twitter.com/gDee2WM4XH
