Today saw a surprise development in the investigation into the death of a young woman in York.
North Yorkshire Police launched a murder inquiry after the discovery of the body of 25-year-old Claire Lucas on Monday, July 2.
She was found in a flat in Fourth Avenue, Tang Hall.
But today (Friday September 7) police revealed the case is no longer being treated as murder.
The 35-year old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released from police bail.

The police investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances around Claire’s death.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Pearson of North Yorkshire Police said:
