This is how the new jewellers and watch store on Davygate will look when finished, according to planning documents.
The Mappin and Webb and Rolex outlets, now being created in the old Debenhams and Virgin Money stores, will feature a flag, new signage and even a projecting Rolex clock.
A flagpole will be installed over the main doors, from which will hang a Rolex flag.
The projecting Rolex clock sign is set to be created in metal with a gold finish, if plans submitted to City of York Council get the green light.
When Mappin and Webb opens its Davygate store, it will add to York’s booming jewellery sector.
Beaverbrooks opened in the former Accessorize and Space NK boutiques on the other side of Davygate last week.
It includes a TAG Heuer luxury watch concession.
Meanwhile, plans are in to turn the old Halifax branch, next to the new Mappin and Webb, into a Breitling store, selling luxury watches.
And Berry’s has three stores in Stonegate.
